How can someone 

who has learned

 

the twinkle in your eye 

when you know you’re right

 

the look on your face 

when you have big news 

 

author your tears

 that cover their shirt

 

your screams

All these years of camaraderie

Can’t be restored.

 

They say they don’t discern

who you are anymore.
